The user dsn name is testdb and the driver is microsoft access driver.

i am using oracle 9i, sql * plus..

i don't know what i am wrong but couldnot connect to access database

please help me

one thing i should mention here...
everyday when i start sql*plus with scott/tiger, it gives error message 'shared memory realm doesnot exists'

what i do is Run the Database configuration assistant, after finishing the wizard, it says nothing is configured. But after running the wizard i can run sql*plus with scott/tiger!!!

can anybody helpme out what's the problem is?

hi there !
i learnt ur question here in web. its nt big problemto not be sign in sql/pl.
two problemmight be;
u cant be sign in sql before u have created database sucessfully.restart the databse if problemnot be slove then throgh dbca u create again datase after dellete ,mfayyazawan@yahoo.comis web ades 2 direct contact

Log on to the server, start SQL*Plus, connect "sys as sysdba" and exexute "startup".

i try to logon with sys,<mypassword>, sysdba
but it says TNS could not resolve the service name

Copy and paste what you did.
Have a look at the "connect" statement in the documentation.

realy very sorry actualy one of my freind was usng my web address to be sign in with my orafaq id . i m realy very sorry. i will never do at all in future,
i have a question for u regarding gatway service smtp .plz give me example of it . i m tcp user .
