Hi,

We need to change the db name of oracle db version 9.2.0.4 using nid utllity. The db is in no archive log mode. And once we change the name and after testing we need to revert the db name to original name.
CAn we revert back using the same nid utility to the orginal name.

Please suggest.

Yes. But what is the point?
If the database holds data of some worth, I will backup with every possible means before doing anything.
What are you testing?
To test the functionality of nid, use a separate database that has no valuable data.

Hi,
Actually we are testing this on a clone database before implementing it on the production database. Our plan is to change the current name of the clone database and test the applications and again revert back to the old name of the clone database before going for it in production.

Have anyone tested renaming twice using nid utility ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
