Dear All,

where to find oradba group in my OS to check wheather the user i am using to login to OS is the part of oradba / dba group or not.
plz tell in little brief.

You can use the "NET LOCALGROUPS" command to check to what groups you belong. From the example below you can see that I belong to the ORA_DBA group.

C:\>net localgroup ORA_DBA
Alias name     ORA_DBA
Comment        Members can connect to the Oracle database as a DBA without a password

Members

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MYDomain\mypc
The command completed successfully.

Thanks for yr help, now using this command i checked and this is not under ORA_DBA group, actully there in no ORA_DBA group as such. can i create it and assign this user to this group. plz help

Hi

I tried the method that you have mentioned, but it gave me this result. I will like to know how to create or assign my dekstop/ server as a part of DBA group? The following is the command that I have.

C:\>net localgroup ORA_DBA
Alias name ORA_DBA
Comment Oracle DBA Group

Members

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CITI\L31003
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
The command completed successfully.

What does NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM means? I really need help. Please help thank you!
