Hi,

We have HRMS component of Oracle E-Business Suite R12. The Applications and Database are installed on the same machine. We have a requirement to separate Database from Applications on different server (i.e. The Database stays at it's current machine, the Applications go to the different server). Please help on how this can be done. Is it possible to restore the Oracle Applications backup on different server and change the configuration files so that it can connect to the database on different server? Or we need a fresh Application Installation on the new server? Even if we have to install Oracle Applications using Rapid install of Oracle E-Business Suite, how can we point the applications to connect to an already existing Database on different server? If the applications backup can be restored on a new machine, how it can connect to the Database server on different machine?

Regards,
Hammad
