Getting output in oracle reports, what are steps to do this?

SQL> select to_char(sysdate,'fmDD Month YYYY','NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=German') date1,

  1  select PARAMETER,value  from nls_database_parameters
  2* where value='AMERICAN'
SQL> /

PARAMETER                      VALUE

What characters?
You have the date in American, this is what you asked, isn't it?

If you've got foreign language data in a varchar (or any other string type) column oracle can't translate it.
