Hi All,
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this.

I have the following unix cron job

0 9-17 * * 1-5 /home/oracle/cron_up_down.ksh |mail email_address

This sends an email but there is no 'subject'.

Can anyone help me in being able to add a 'subject' to this email.

regards

Alan.

add
mail -s'subject' email address

The syntax may be wrong.
Check man pages for mail

mailx I think is another mail program, depending on your system, that I've found to be better than mail. Although on some systems there is no distinction. And yes I think -s is the subject line, there are multiple options in man pages.
