Right now, We setup a invoice(AP) for the grant amount and then we schedule the payment as and when we need to pay.

Now when we are making a payment, is it possible to

1. send a specific payment as cash payment
2. send another part of payment as stock payment

Also,
Right now when we pay, it goes to cash/check account and liability account.
When we pay thru stock is it possible to change it to mutiple liability account
and one new payable account which will replace cash/check.

Thanks for you help.

Hi,

One possible method whould be :

1) Make partial payments to the invoice in AP
2) Transfer to GL
3) Issue bond/dividend from Oracle treasury
4) Transfer to GL
5) Ensure that liability account is same for both
6) Reconcile in GL

Hope it serves .

Vinod

Vinod,

We don't have treasury. We have AP and GL only.

Hi,

Basically, if you wish to achieve only accounting transactions

Use statistical currency to represent the Stock payment in AP
-> Define Currency and exchange rate (1)
-> Define payment methods with statistical currency.
-> Pay the invoice partially by functional currency and rest by statistical currency.

If materials movement is required
Then please check out B2B process

Hi,

B2B process
=======================

Basically they form the basis of maintanence of your Supply chain management.(Meet the demands)

Here the company behaves as a reseller. The Supplier/Sister Organization supplies the goods to the company and the company in turn sells goods to the customer.

The delivery can be done either by company or by the supplier.

The manner in which the delivery is made to the customer through various channels is B2B process

Example :

Scenario
==================

1) Customer A gives SO to Company ABC located in UK.
2) Company ABC gives IO to its sister concern ABC-1 located in India.
3) Company ABC-1 gives PO to Supplier B

Now,
How will the goods be delivered to Customer A?

I : Supplier B -->Company ABC-1-->Customer A
II : Supplier B -->Company ABC-->Customer A

III : Supplier B-->Customer A

The process of finding the best possible process is B2B.

Hope it is clarified..

Regards
Vinod

Vinod,

Can you explain more in detail how to set the txn. Just to make sure what I am looking for, I have given below what we are looking to achieve.

This is our current scenario
1. A Grant is awarded thru our custom grant application.
2. On award an interface triggers and creates the Invoice in Oracle AP
and sets the liability on GL
3. On Payment request from Custom Grants Application. The AP user goes to
that invoice for the grant and schedules a payment and puts the reminder
of the invoice amount on hold.

What we are trying to accomplish.
1. A Grant is awarded thru our custom grant application.

2. On award an interface triggers and creates the Invoice in Oracle AP
and sets the liability on GL (ie increase 12800 liability account)

3. On Payment request from custom Grants application, The AP user has to
go to that invoice, schedule a payment, put the reminder of that invoice on hold and also account towards
a) the liability should be diminished (12800 liability account)
b) reduce the 02000 (stock account)
c) increase the 27000 (Non tax distribution)
d) since the requested payment amount may not be equal to the amount of stock transferred,
will issue a normal check for the difference (Stock Transferred-Payment requested)

4. Our Investment department will execute the stock transfer to that effect.

This is what we did to accomplish the task.

When the payment request from grants gets created as scheduled payment in the Invoice, The payment method will be set to one of the type which we don't use. and the other to Check.

Two DFF were created to capture the other GL a/c to which the Stock payment has to go.

The Scheduled Stock payment is then processed with a dummy bank a/c.

On approval of the payment printed (thru. dummy bank a/c) a concurrent program will get triggerd and the 2 GL a/c will get posted / created.
