My instance is up and running, it could either be using a PFILE or a SPFILE.I am not sure which one its using,so how do I check it.

Hi,

Try this :-
1.Login to the database .

2.Issue the following command :-
SQL>sho parameter pfile

3.If the above command shows some value for spfile parameter , then you are using spfile otherwise pfile.

hi,

sql>show parameter spfile

it will show value mean ur database currently using spfile.
if it will show "null"
then database using "pfile".
