Hi Everyone,

I have installed Oracle 8i and the database in my server which is running Windows XP Pro Pack 2. After I installed the database and gave all the TNS settings.

I want this database to access from the client place but from the client place I am unable to connect because of my FIREWALL is TURN ON, if I TURN OFF then the user can able to connect. Is there anyway where I can keep the FIREWALL TURN ON and the user to connect to the server.

Can anyone help me in this regard?

Have a look at Metalink notes 66382.1 "Firewalls, Windows NT and Redirections" and 124140.1 "How to configure USE_SHARED_SOCKET on Windows NT/2000".
