Shift basis for calculating depreciation
We have plant and machinery, depreciation is calculated based on number of shift worked.
There are 3 shifts,
First shift rate of depreciation 5%,
Second shift rate of depreciation 6%,
Third shift rate of depreciation 7%
My client having practice of claiming depreciation based number of shift worked every day. For example. One day if they work two shift means, two shift depreciation is claimed, if they work 3 shifts, they will claim three shift depreciation.
Can you please advice how I can calculated depreciation for above example, if there any feature available in oracle to calculate this method of calculating depreciation.

Formula method of depreciation link to production method.

Formula method of depreciation link to production method.
For 1st shift for plant A -depreciation percentage = 4.75%
For 2nd shift for plant A -depreciation percentage=7.42%
For 3rd shift for plant A -depreciation percentage = 10.34%
Each shift working at 8 hours.
I am going to use production method of depreciation; UOM is hour’s- capacity is 24 hours. Against plant A, I am entering values for month of april-07 – one shift worked, for month of May-07 – two shift worked and Jun-07 – three shift worked.
Plant A – April-07 – 8 hours worked
Plant A – May-07 - 16 hours worked
Plant A – Jun-07 - 24 hours worked.
How to link this to formula method of depreciation from production value entered.
For above example. Can you please help me to set formula .for this..
