hello

if i have free space in datafiles, is using ALTER DATABASE statement and DATAFILE RESIZE clause for reducing size of datafiles good idea?

and what views i can use for defining free space of datafiles? please write the query

Weird, how do you know you have free space if you don't know to see what free space you have?

I don't know another simple way to do it.

But the question is: why do you want to resize your datafile?

hello Michel Cadot

i use oracle 10g and in this release through web console enterprise
manager i can understand how mach free space is available in every
datafile but i want define datafiles free space through catalog views

and i want reduce datafiles free space for saving disk capacity

can you guide me ?
